Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO). We are an organization of approximately 4,000 employees globally in more than 40 locations. What You Will Do - Mission/Purpose of the Position
The Dealer Inventory Management Analyst position is part of the Dealer Inventory Management (DIM) Analyst NA team within the SML Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) organization. Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) is the function at Service Market Logistics where we enable customer success through an optimized supply chain from suppliers to customers by balancing service levels, tied-up capital, transport cost and performance. You will be part of the DIM Analyst network securing an optimized steering of spare parts to our 3,000 dealers around the globe through an automated inventory concept. Within DIM Analytics, you will have a broad role working with supply chain optimization, deep analysis as well as forward-looking development. You will have the opportunity to really make a difference for the future together with supporting colleagues in a highly international and skilled team. You will work in close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues to secure optimized service for our end customers throughout the supply chain.
We are in a transformation journey , utilizing the possibilities of big data, advanced analytics and the rolling-out PlanIT - a cloud native planning solution - allowing agile micro services development – by the team – driving the development of future capabilities within the DIM function. You will play an active role in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the solution.
Scope & Influence
This position will report to the Manager of Dealer Inventory Management Analysis NA and is based in Greensboro, NC.
Essential Functions
· Simulate and optimize service, inventory, and forecasting parameters to enable cost efficient ways to meet future spare parts demand
· Analyze sales pattern versus system-generated forecasts identifying insights, trends, and deviations
· Develop future DIM capabilities by developing micro services in a cloud native solution in a DevOps team structure
· Explore and develop methods to utilize Leading Indicator demand shaping information to forecast parts when historical demand will not be representative for future demand
· Use data to surface and investigate supply chain challenges; create analysis to identify problem root causes and provide solutions in supply chain operation
· Ability to visualize and tell a story with data that compels stakeholders to understand and take action (PowerBI, Qlikview, Tableau, etc.)
· Work on continuous improvement through the Volvo Production System
· Act according to the Volvo values
· Other duties as assigned by Management Minimum Education and Experience
· BA/BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience. MS degree preferred
· 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred
· Experience working with logistics in a complex global supply chain
· Holistic view and ability to grasp the end to end supply chain
· Knowledge of where to find relevant logistics data, how to retrieve it, and how to validate the data in terms of relevance, correctness and completeness
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment striving towards operational excellence guided by Volvo's Values and the Code of Conduct Necessary Technical/Functional/Language Skills
· As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required
· Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively within a multi-cultural and international environment to all levels of the organization
· Ability to compile and present findings and possible recommendations to a diverse audience
· Ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships
· Comfortable learning new technologies
· Proficiency in 1 or more scripting languages (Python, R, Java, Apache Spark, etc.)
· Knowledge of Agile methodology, Microsoft Azure, DevOPs, or software development
