What you will do
You will play a central role in our digital transformation by enabling Powertrain Engineering organization’s to efficiently create and use Data as a Product.
By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, your missions will be to:
· secure the required data are specified, developed, verified and delivered according to the plan with the expected level, for the New Medium Duty Engine platform (Data Feature leader role).
· build, test, maintain data pipelines and data products suitable for analysis (Data engineer role).
· create dashboards for reporting or monitoring our R&D data (Data engineer role).
With your knowledge and technical skills in data engineering as well as the support of the community of Data Scientists/Engineers, you will contribute defining technical strategies for projects development and deployment in Volvo data infrastructures.
Finally, you will provide advice and technical expertise to foster a data culture, essential in this journey.
Your future team
You will be part of the Data & Simulation team, in the Powertrain Engineering department, in Lyon.
Our core mission is to accelerate powertrain engineering through the design, development and maintenance of complete systems using our cutting-edge digital technologies: Data Science & Simulation. We are also helping our department mature and evolve in its transformation to be more data-driven.
In our team, we are 7 engineers, driven by curiosity, and it is important for us to think outside the box and try new things to be as successful as possible. And more important, we firmly believe that a united team that is passionate about what it does is the key to an efficient and quality work environment!

Other requirements for the position are:
· Engineering or MSc Student in Computer Science, Data Science or similar fields
· One experience on leading project (academic, associative or personal)
· Strong knowledge and experience in ETL and programming languages (SQL, Python/PySpark, Spark, Airflow)
· Experience in visualization tools (such as Power BI, Grafana, Streamlit)
· Communication skills, both written and oral
· Fluency in French/English (as working in international and multicultural environment)
As a plus: Knowledge or experience in Databricks, Github or Jenkins, Devops, AI algorithms and Deep learning frameworks , Agile/Scrum methodology, Safe framework, Jira/ Confluence
