Job description
We are in an exciting period of new opportunities in Finance in New Zealand. We want to strengthen our pool of VIE and are seeking a VIE – Cost controller F/M who wants to work within our VINCI Construction subsidiaries based in New Zealand – HEB Construction.
HEB Construction is a Civil Construction company and provides our clients with a diverse multi-disciplined civil engineering infrastructure capability that helps to sustain the communities in which we work. This capability includes the construction of sub-divisions, roads and bridges, stormwater drainage, pumping stations, water, and wastewater treatment plants, as well as piling, wharf construction, precast concrete elements, and landscaping.
You will be a Finance team member, directly reporting to the Finance Manager. You will be responsible for preparing and reporting the financial performance information, issues, and risks to enable the Division’s management to make sound decisions.
Your main missions consist of:
Project control :
- Take part with the Finance Manager:
- Constant review of projects performance
- Completion of project reports and liaison with operational managers on the final targets for each job including analysis of WIP, Accruals, and Cost to Complete
- Review the cost and contract for the major purchases (steel, concrete, aggregate, plant spare parts …)
- Other duties may be requested from within the Division.
Report:
- Ensure the reliability of the financial information and the performance of the Division with a specific focus on:
- Financial reporting (Commercial report, Maestro, SII,)
- Overheads, including Tender costs
- Provisions and Risk analysis
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing
Budget:
- With his Finance Manager, prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Ensure budget/forecasts are developed accurately and timely and contain reasonable expectations.
Desired profile
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- A graduate of a business or engineering school or university education in accounting/finance
- First experience in Finance (including internship and/or apprenticeship), ideally acquired in the construction sector.
- Knowledge of accounting rules and sound best practice finance processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English
- Proven organisational skills
- Proven well-developed interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated
- Analytical skills
- Well-developed time management skills
- Adaptable - able to adjust priorities as needed
- An excellent command of Microsoft Excel (Data analysis). Knowledge of SAP/SA would be a plus.
- A previous international experience would be an asset.
