Job Description

Are you looking for a meaningful experience in a company committed to the environment? Join us!

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a senior mechanical designer at  AnoxKaldnes in our innovative and collaborative environment in Lund! We provide unique wastewater solutions all over the world and we continue to focus on R&D to maintain our market leading position. This is a chance to be part of an international company and contribute to a more sustainable world.

At AnoxKaldnes we understand complex biological water treatment processes. Our expertise extends from biofilm technology to reactor configuration, hydraulics, aeration, mixing, and sieve constructions as well as start-up, operation and control. As a senior mechanical designer you will be an important part of what we offer to our clients. You will work closely with our research and development team during development of new technologies, with our sales and process engineers in the tender phase - tailor making the best solution for each client and with our project managers during the execution phase to support the client all the way to a functional process delivering treated water.

Main responsibilities:

·  Design mechanical equipment used in wastewater treatment plants in terms of AnoxKaldnes product portfolio using the computerised aids of AnoxKaldnes and in accordance with industry norms and standards.
·  Document all pertinent work in drawings, calculation notes and/or analyses or other work procedures to maintain traceability.
·  Collaborate with the Research & Development Team to transform needs for new equipment within wastewater treatment into concrete designs and material choices.
·  Collaborate with the Sales & Process team during the sales phase to develop the solution that offers the highest value to the client. Think outside the box to develop our solutions to be more energy and cost efficient
·  Support the project manager and the mechanical team during the execution phase and be the contact point for the mechanical equipment  during the contract phase.
·  Act as contact point for AK’s supplier of mechanical equipment for the deliveries that are appointed.
·  Visit customer sites to inspect equipment and collect return of experience to be used as a basis for improvement.

You will also:

·  Participate in feasibility studies from potential clients and provide feedback to Sales.
·  Participate in production quality reviews of mechanical equipment and report any deviations to the Project Manager.
·  Participate in concept studies and feasibility studies, both for standard deliveries but also for new development work.

Qualifications

Who are you?

You probably have at least a bachelor degree in mechanical design, but more importantly, you have enough experience within mechanical design to independently be able to design our solutions with help of norms and standards. You also have extensive experience from the water treatment business and are well aware of the opportunities and risks within this area. This means that you have probably worked within the water treatment sector for at least ten years. You are well familiar with CAD (2D/3D) and documentation.

Since we work globally we normally communicate in English, sometimes it can be an advantage to also speak Swedish but it's not mandatory.  Since part of your job is to visit and inspect customer sites you will be travelling regularly, mostly shorter trips.
