Our subsidiary Veolia Irland is looking for Junior Commercial Contract Engineer
Job Description
The VIE will work on a programme of works for the delivery of water treatment and energy projects with the Kilkenny, ireland office coordinating with Project Managers, Project Control team members and the commercial team, to ensure the success of projects.
Day to Day of the Role:
· Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
· Assisting in delivering the Veolia IE commercial strategy Work with the Project Teams to ensure they are adhering to all Contractual requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
· Linking in with the Construction Team’s Monthly applications are all inclusive of accurate measures, site changes, dayworks and any applicable contract claims.
· Identify escalations, material or labour variations, etc. as appropriate
· Exposure to the process of estimating, pricing and quantity surveying on all major projects and assisting the project team on smaller projects.
· Working with the Business Development team developing bids and responding to tenders.
· Evaluate contractor performance after project completion
· Work with the Commercial Contract Manager to Identify claims, give timely notice and support in defending against claims for accelerations, disruption or losses
· Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.
Qualifications
Master degree in Engineering/Building engineering projects (with qualification Surveying/Mechanical)
Construction site experience, project management a desirable
Skills expected : Strong IT Skills, Communication Skills, Strong Attention to Detail
Languages: English (fluent)
