Job Description

This position is a combined role and will be based from one of our Veolia Service Centers. When working
from base the position will be an integral part of the facility maintenance team or potentially fabrication
shop (depending on location). Due to the growth of the Services business, this position will be called
upon to travel to other Veolia Service Centres mainly based in their region (South/West/Central or
East/North/Central NAM). Purpose of the travel will be for facility expansion or upgrade projects and
sometimes at customer sites.

During the periods away from base the main function of this position will be on-site execution of Veolia
facility CAPEX projects. Core function of the role will be mechanical welding, repair or upgrade activities.
This role will perform duties to the highest standard with regard to professional attitude toward work
and safety. When working from the base Service Center the role will ensure installation of equipment,
machinery, general repairs are carried out efficiently and properly.

Key Characteristics

·  Travel to remote facilities to perform Welding and support installation of CAPEX projects.
·  Strict adherence to all EHS standards in accordance with both Veolia and site guidelines
·  Ability to read and implement engineering drawings and P&ID’s, Works according to project engineering standard

Duties & Responsibilities

·  Travel to Veolia facilities or occasional customer sites for on-site installation of CAPEX projects - estimated travel at 50-75%
·  Works to best EHS standards, policies or procedures
·  Works in according to the install lead directions & maintains clear communication to ensure smooth and efficient operations
·  Follows good installation housekeeping practices
·  Ability to performs confined space entry to the highest EHS standards
·  Works according to the facility maintenance leader directions
·  Maintains direct communication with Maintenance leader and maintenance staff
·  Demonstrates excellent EHS standards and follows policies/procedures in order to keep self and others injury free
·  MIG, TIG and Stick welding when needed.
·  Install new equipment or re-arranges existing equipment.
·  Performs preventative maintenance activities at the facility or within the ‘Mobile’ fleet
·  Maintains records or reports as directed by immediate supervisor
·  Perform building and ground maintenance
·  Is available on call for emergency repairs as needed to keep plant and jobsites in good running order

Qualifications

Education & Experience
Required:

·  HS Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to HS Diploma
·  Minimum of 1 year of PVC plumbing, OR mechanical repair and maintenance work experience or training
·  Able to MIG, TIG & Stick weld. 
·  Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
·  Ability and willingness to work confined space entry
·  Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
·  Ability and willingness to read documents and implement such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
·  Ability and willingness for on call status for emergency response
·  Ability and willingness to travel for install and repair if needed
·  Ability and willingness to travel where needed

Preferred:

·  At least 1 year of repair and maintenance work experience
·  Experience running Schedule 80 PVC pipe (2” to 8”)
·  Ability to apply to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form and able to read a P&ID
·  Trade school experience for plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desired
·  Positive displacements pump repair experience
