Purchasing Admin Assistant
Location: Elga Labwater – Site based (Lane End)
Position: Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week

As a Purchasing Admin Assistant within Elga Labwater, you will provide essential administrative support to the Purchasing function while offering cover across other areas of Operations when required. Working closely with the Purchasing Office Supervisor, you will help ensure purchasing activities run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with ISO quality standards.
As a Purchasing Admin Assistant, your key duties will include:

Raising Purchase Requisition Orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring they reflect the originator’s requirements for price, delivery, and technical information, and that all appropriate authorisations are in place.

Using MRP systems to raise stock orders that accurately reflect production requirements.
·
Checking order acknowledgements against original purchase orders for price and delivery accuracy and escalating discrepancies to the Purchasing Supervisor when required.
·
Accurately filing purchase orders and order acknowledgements in line with company procedures.
·
Running and actioning the Overdue Report daily to support on-time supplier delivery.
·
Monitoring rejects, ensuring faulty goods are returned for credit or replacement, and maintaining accurate records of all reject orders.

Upholding and maintaining ELW ISO quality standards at all times.
·
Actively seeking and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
·
Building strong, professional working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
What we would like from you:

A good understanding of MRP systems and production processes.
·
Strong computer skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
·
A disciplined, organised, and self-motivated approach to work.
·
Ideally experience of working in a fast paced production environment
·
Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous manner when liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
·
The ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet both urgent and routine requirements.
·
Willingness to occasionally work extended hours to meet critical deadlines.
·
Commitment to following all relevant ISO procedures and highlighting any issues to the Purchasing Supervisor.
Education & Competencies:
·
Formal numeracy and literacy qualifications or equivalent general education.
·
Ability to work effectively within a cohesive and motivated team.
·
A strong focus on quality, leading by example in day-to-day activities.
