Job Description
Under general direction, the Test and Calibration Supervisor provides leadership to the Test and
Calibration, Receiving Inspection, Board Test, Cells and Fluidics Blocks teams, overseeing the testing of
2,000-2,500 instruments annually. The supervisor ensures that safety, quality, and delivery
commitments are met, improves/maintains key performance measures, and responds quickly when
safety, production flow, and/or quality are being impacted to gain resolution. The Test and Calibration
Supervisor leads by example and ensures adherence to all ISO 9001 requirements and Environmental
Health and Safety programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Team Supervision:
· Participate in the hiring process of new team members.
· Provide onboarding training and ensure constant cross-training of the team. Maintain updated employee training records.
· Participate in coaching, development discussions and review of team members.
· Create a culture of safety, inclusion, engagement, and accountability.
· Make recommendations on disciplinary action to management and participate in the disciplinary action process as necessary.
2. Operations:
· Lead operations in work areas mentioned above, by determining the most efficient utilization of production staff and by maintaining optimal inventory levels in collaboration with the Planning team.
· Lead the daily huddle meetings, communicate work assignments of personnel to cover all phases of production, and ensure daily goals are met. Provide daily operations summaries to the supply chain management team.
· Serve as a working supervisor by learning and performing all testing and calibration procedures to support the team during peak demand and staff absences.
· Review and approve time sheets including requests for time-off.
· Enter, validate/edit, analyze production and quality data using SAP, MES and other systems (usage transactions, production transactions, scrap transactions, quality rework, etc.).
· Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and make recommendations to management.
· Collaborate with the Maintenance and Engineering team to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition, and that equipment calibration and preventive maintenance are completed on time.
· Manage allocation and utilization of testing equipment, calibration tools, and personnel resources to optimize workflow and meet production schedules.
· Make operational decisions regarding work prioritization and resource allocation within defined authority limits, escalating decisions exceeding approval authority to the Production and Engineering Manager.
· Communicate test status, delays, and quality issues to supply chain management, planning and the sales team.
· Participate in GEMBA walks to identify process improvements and safety opportunities on the production floor.
· Support and actively participate in the VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) initiatives and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) directives to maintain a safe work environment.
· Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, FDA regulations (if applicable), and industry testing standards through accurate record-keeping, training records, calibration certificates, and traceability documentation.
3. Continuous improvement:
· Work with the Supply Chain engineers to maximize manufacturing OEE & line capacities through cycle time & downtime reduction.
· Work with the Supply Chain engineers to drive continuous improvement through the daily use of Lean tools, quality data from field returns and Root Cause Analysis, to achieve first pass yield 95% and On Time Delivery 90%.
· Work with the Supply Chain engineers to develop/update efficient, impactful Standard Operating Procedures.
· Work with the Supply Chain engineers to lead introduction of new products into manufacturing.
Working Conditions:
· Presence at the plant required (no remote work)
· No travel expected
· Ability to carry/pull/push/lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to stand/walk majority of the workday
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
· Must be able to delegate and prioritize in an ever-changing environment.
· Leadership skills with a focus on development and accountability.
· Ability to interact with all levels of management.
· Conflict resolution and performance management skills to address team issues and drive
accountability.
· Ability to interpret and report on metrics, KPIs, and quality data to support decision-making.
· LEAN or Six Sigma Continual Improvement experience and will have the ability to drive Visual
Management and KPI / Metrics performance measures.
· Computer proficiency in Google platforms, Microsoft Office products, SAP, and MES systems.
Education & Experience
Required:
· High School Diploma / GED
· Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing work experience
· Minimum of 2 years of supervising experience
· Experience with testing, calibration, or quality control processes
· Knowledge of ISO 9001 or quality management systems
Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Software or related program
· 2 years people leadership work experience
· Experience as a working supervisor in a manufacturing environment
· Analytical instruments or Electronics industry manufacturing experience
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation
· Experience with using root cause analysis and Lean Six Sigma tools for process improvement and waste reduction
· Familiarity with GEMBA walks and continuous improvement methodologies
· Experience with VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) or similar safety initiatives
· Knowledge of SAP

· Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $70,000 - $90,000 USD
