Job Title MRF Maintenance Technician
Salary Up to £37,500 - Competitive Salary plus excellent benefits
Hours 48 Hours per week (4 x 12hours). On a day shift pattern.
What you’ll do
As an MRF maintenance technician you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Maintenance Engineers in maximising the throughput of the facility by completing day to day maintenance of all plant and equipment.
You will liaise with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors and assist the site engineers to maintain efficient and effective plant operations, assist the maintenance engineers in maintaining plant operation and assist with preventing plant breakdowns by completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), ensuring that the risk of downtime is kept to a minimum ultimately assisting in maximising profit and revenue. You will complete planning and scheduling all of maintenance aspects of the MRF, minimising disruption to operations and maximising uptime and availability.
You will be expected to carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including Conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, motors, gearbox, mechanical drives, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology etc. In addition to this, you will also be responsible for assisting with the management of contractors on site in terms of work instructions and ensuring inductions have been completed and they work safely and in line with VES safe working practices.
The MRF maintenance technician will ensure all sub-contractors perform their duties according to company procedures and work schedules, ensure that maintenance requests from all sites within the role holders remit are dealt with in a timely and professional manner, complete all relevant paperwork and reports to the required standard and inspect work area equipment for deficiencies, hazards, and malfunctions and report all discrepancies and any unsafe act or working condition to supervisory personnel.
Where you’ll work
You will be based at the Materials Recycling Facility in Dagenham, where we reprocess sorted plastic bottles and extrude them into various grades of recycled pellets, primarily for the food industry.
