We are now recruiting suitable candidate for Ecospace, the first and only integrated facility (CWTF) in Hong Kong to treat hazardous waste and infectious (medical) waste, in operation since 1993 at Tsing Yi. The CWTF operates under ISO 9001 and 14001 certification and stringent regulatory and contractual requirements and conditions.

Job Description

People Management

· 
Build up, maintain and motivate an efficient team 

· 
Improve Laboratory organisation to meet Regulatory, Contractual and Operational requirements 

· 
Provide training to laboratory chemists, technicians and other related staff

Functional and Operational 

· 
Supervise testing activities & ensure that working conditions are in accordance with internal QEHS procedures

· 
Ensure the laboratory meets the requirements of quality management standards: ISO17025 and HOKLAS

· 
Manage efficiently the stock of chemicals and lab consumables

· 
Manage and review the laboratory results in the software (LIMS)

· 
Ensure the proper operation and reliability of all laboratory equipment/ instruments (hardware & software)

· 
Develop and update internal procedures and manuals

· 
Perform and coordinate calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment/instrument

· 
Perform or assist in the implementation of improvement projects

· 
Familiar with laboratory instruments (hardware and software) performance characteristics, operating procedures and maintenance knowledge.

· 
Other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualification:

· 
Bachelor degree or above, majoring in Chemistry;

Job Experience/Knowledge:

· 
At least 5-year working experience in laboratory with 2 to 3 years experience in the supervision of a laboratory in chemical industry, preferably in petrochemical or pharmaceutical industry; 

· 
Experience of operation on GC, Mass-spectroscopy,  X-ray fluorescence, ICP, Calorimetric system, or other lab equipment;

· 
Experience with Dioxin test measurement is a plus;

· 
Experience with implementation of HOKLAS quality management standard is a plus;

· 
Familiar with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System);

Language skills:

· 
Excellent in English and Chinese (writing, reading and speaking).

Other:

· 
Excellent command with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power point);
