Job Description

Position Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment used in operations, including backhoes, dozers, and front end loaders, used in earth moving operations and/or industrial settings. Work duties may require minor mechanical maintenance and repairs.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities: 

·  Ability to operate heavy, power driven equipment to increase efficiency and productivity
·  Maintain and repair heavy, power driven equipment
·  Ability to clearly and concisely communicate site conditions or changes in conditions to management/supervisor
·  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background: 

·  A High School Diploma or equivalent
·  3 to 4 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

·  Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power driven equipment
·  Maintenance requirements of heavy, power driven equipment
·  Methods used in general construction and maintenance work
·  Understanding of occupational hazards and safe work practices

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

·  Local City or County Heavy Equipment Certification
