Position Purpose:
Technicians I and II are responsible for performing various general labor activities that include the operation of large machinery that provide assistance to the jobsite.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
· Operates a vehicle or other special equipment such as forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle, or vactor as part of the general labor duties.
· Performs maintenance on the property and in field as required via the use of a maintenance request for or verbal request.
· Keeps a log of all maintenance acuities, date of work completed, and as much detail as possible as to what work was performed.
· Make scheduled inspections of the grounds.
· Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.
· Performs various tasks (i.e., shoveling, transfers manhole covers, handle eqt.) to assist Crew Leader.
· Assist with identifying safety improvements related to the facilities, equipment, or procedures.
· Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
· Performs regular checks of equipment conditions, noting deficiencies and following maintenance procedures. Notifies supervisor of needed maintenance.
· Communicate effectively via written and oral methods with co-workers, supervisor, managers, and others when necessary.
· Performs other duties as required.
Work Environment:
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
· High School Diploma/GED is required.
· 1-5 years of work experience in related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Strong working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
· Ability to read technical material, blueprints (understands symbols)/.Knowledge of codes, safety devices and procedures.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
· Must have valid Mississippi driver’s license (CDL preferred).
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting, crawling, sitting, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
· Must be able to work in confined spaces.
