VWS Westgarth Ltd is part of Veolia Water Technologies group and is reported through this parent. Veolia Water Technologies (VWT) is in turn part of Veolia Environnement SA (VE), a French multinational business. 

VWS Westgarth Ltd, whose main office is in East Kilbride, Scotland, is a specialist in water treatment systems for the offshore energy sector.  We are the world leader in the Sulphate Removal Process, which is a sea water treatment system for the offshore industry and we are also specialists in treatment systems for oilfield produced waters.  Our main offshore markets are currently West Africa and South America, where we also undertake the management responsibility for offices in Luanda and Rio de Janeiro.

Our main offshore markets are currently Guyana, Gulf of Mexico, Angola and Brazil.  VWS Westgarth employs more than 160 staff within its own offices, who work closely with a number of other global Veolia business units on a regular basis.

Job Description

BUYER

Are you a Buyer from a Heavy Engineering or Energy background with experience in international markets, looking for an exciting and varied role, within an industry leading specialist who are known for looking after and investing in staff?

Excellent opportunity to step into a highly autonomous role where no two days will be the same. You will be taken through training on their bespoke products and parts, and will play a part in influencing the success of the business.

The Role

·  Support the Tendering function with competitive pricing for project contracts.  
·  Maintain Supplier database.
·  Work in a cross functional team to co-ordinate bidders' queries and select the successful supplier. 
·  Negotiation with key suppliers for discounts, savings and advantageous terms with selected suppliers.  
·  Prepare and organise Procurement meetings. 
·  Responsible for Commercial Bid Tabs and commercial recommendations.
·  Prepare and maintain Purchase Orders.
·  Where possible establish Framework/Supplier Agreements 
·  Work with the Project team in the management of key suppliers, ensuring performance improvement and risk mitigation.
·  Expedite orders and have the skills at identifying issues and proactively propose solutions.
·  Contribute to the Company's Procurement KPIs.
·  As required,  support in the Procurement Manager with contract terminations, claims and disputes.
·  Support the invoice approval process.
·  Conduct a closeout review/score card of the order/supplier's performance.
·  Support the logistic team. 
·  Prepare and administer facilities orders as required.
·  Undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time, in line with company objectives.
·  Ensure adherence to the Health and Safety policies and procedure.
·  Travelling to customer sites globally, primarily the UK, Europa and Asia.

Summary of Professional and Personal Capabilities/Competencies:

 

·  Extensive procurement experience, demonstrably leading projects and delivering results.
·  Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies, adapting to changing needs.
·  Experience managing supplier performance, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, and execution.
·  Experience of strategic procurement within an engineering environment.
·  MCIPS or degree qualification preferred but not essential.
·  Results-oriented with a track record of achieving objectives.
·  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships.
·  Professional attitude with the ability to influence others.
·  Financial acumen and commitment to fiscal responsibility.
·  Ability to visualise, communicate, and drive solutions to business and procurement challenges.

Qualifications

MCIPS or degree qualification preferred but not essential.
