Application Engineering Leader
   Remote Europe

The Application Engineering Leader’s role is to manage the Application Engineering team in charge of the development of core project proposals.

Your focus will be on:

·  shaping the EU ITO team organisation
·  ensuring an efficient workload management across Europe 
·  growing core project proposal developments to increase our pipeline and core project 

Managing a team of 7 application engineers and proposals managers, who are focused on the development of our core Project proposals, you will have a direct line of communication with the EU DoC ITO Leader, working closely with the ITO Country Champions to define the Application Engineering Team’s workload and business priorities.  

What will the day to day look like?

·  Team leadership and management 
·  Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of application engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. 
·  Ensure a clear sense of accountability within the team to drive success.
·  Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support to team members.
·  Define and implement development plans for application engineers
·  Manage individual application engineer training, workload and proposals assignments to ensure capabilities growth and people development
·  Manage with Sales team Application Engineering team workload to focus on key priorities and develop opportunities pipeline
·  In charge of proposals team assignment to allow competitive and secure proposals development
·  Work with the Project execution team and EU Product team to improve project proposals competitiveness, challenge status-quo and look for innovative solutions
·  Be responsible for costs, quality, deadlines and technical performance 
·  Take responsibility for proposals submission and drive the team through the negotiation steps
·  Define improvement roadmap and ensure the development & deployment of proposal internals tools 
·  Guarantee the application of processes, documentation and monitoring of decisions by the team
·  Promote development and communication of Lessons Learned

 

Qualifications

Ideal skills and experience:

·  Masters degree in engineering 
·  Solid experience in sales and commercial positions in industrial companies 
·  Proposals Management experience in international industrial and municipal B2B transactions with a heavy technology or services component
·  Relevant management experience in matrix organisation
·  Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and its relevant technologies (MBR, UF, EDR, RO, EDI) 
·  Knowledge of international contracting practices in industrial and municipal transactions.
·  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
·  Fluent in English (oral and written) – able to present complex cases with ease in English 
·  Availability to travel on business as required
·  Excellent interpersonal skills 
·  Great communicator
·  Good business acumen and executive presence in front of customers 
·  Appetite for employee development
·  Open-minded, disciplined and used to working in remote global teams 
·  Ability to multi-task and deliver results against demanding customer-driven deadlines 
·  Proactive, action oriented and used to working against financial targets
