Field Service Engineer (Automated Analysers)
This field-based role involves resolving reported technical issues and performing preventive maintenance during the lifecycle of the Skalar equipment at customers in the UK & Ireland.
As a field service engineer, you will be Skalar’s ambassador in the UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for all communications with customers during the installation of new analysers, planned preventive maintenance visits and when repairing faults on site. You will possess the ability to analyse and resolve issues and errors which arise in installed analysers. You need an eye for spotting potential improvements to the service process and will share these with colleagues with a view to optimising levels of customer satisfaction. Together with your two UK colleagues, you will be responsible for the whole of the UK & Ireland. Planning and support is coordinated and managed from the head office in the Netherlands. You will work from a home office andwill be travelling frequently. You will report directly to the service manager in the Netherlands.
We are looking for an engineer who has 'on the road' experience and is ready for a new challenge - perhaps looking to move from a laboratory or process engineering environment to start a career in field service. Full training will be provided where necessary.
Field Service Engineer profile
- Enthusiastic and competent problem-solver with a practical approach to engineering problems
- Bachelors degree or related HNC / HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent, or recognised Engineering qualifications in a relevant discipline
- A minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in service engineering and/or field repair of scientific instrumentation or laboratory equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Customer-oriented, loyal, strong sense of responsibility
- Clean UK driving license and flexibility to travel UK-wide
- Preferably Midlands based (Birmingham area)
