Surveillance Detection Guard


(TEMPORARY – Not To Exceed 24 Months)

Work Hours:

Full-time – 40 hours per week (with an irregular working shift schedule including weekends and holidays)


 


Salary:



This is a temporary position: not to exceed (NTE) 24 months


Ordinarily Resident (OR): EUR26,814 per year (Position Grade: FSN -4)


Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): USD 25,011per year (Position Grade: FP-AA)


NOTE:  An additional 20.2% will be added to the salary listed above for allowances and bonuses.  There are approximately 17 (American and Dutch) holidays a year in addition to annual leave (‘vakantiedagen)

Basic Function of Position


Provides security for USG facilities, and family members by performing procedures to detect, recognize, and report on surveillance directed against U.S. Government facilities and/or personnel and provides support directly, or by calling for assistance.  In case of an imminent attack, calls for immediate assistance and takes action to prevent injury or death to personnel, and destruction of property.

Qualifications Required

  1. Education:
    Completion of secondary school.


  2. Experience: 
    One year of surveillance or related experience.  Previous Military, surveillance or related experience in a position which involved observation/surveillance skills and techniques is required.


  3. Language Requirements:
    Level III (good working knowledge) English language is required.  Level II (limited knowledge) Dutch language is required.


  4. Job Knowledge:
    Must be familiar with procedures for conducting and reporting surveillance; capable of discerning normal traffic patterns, pedestrian behavior, and choke points of Embassy facilities, access, and travel routes.


  5. Skills and Abilities:
    A valid Dutch driver’s license is required.  Skills preferred: use of surveillance equipment.   Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) is required.  Must be able to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances without requesting guidance.  Must have strong organizational skills.
