Your team

The 24 month program is divided into four phases:

Phase I (Four Months)

This phase combines e-learning, case studies, virtual group work, and on-site training to educate you on the UBS product and service offering as well as the financial planning process and related tools. You are expected to obtain your Series 7 and Series 66 (if not already licensed) and begin pursuing the AWMA® designation. You will also join other WPAs from across the country for a week of intensive on-site training in the UBS Wealth Management Americas headquarters in Weehawken, NJ.

Phase II (Eight Months)

Phase Two focuses on the application of the knowledge and skills you acquired in Phase I in addition to ongoing development through virtual classroom sessions, online modules and case studies. You will begin to partner with Financial Advisors within your market to develop financial plans to meet the unique needs of each client. Additionally, you will complete the AWMA® and begin CFP® coursework during this phase.

Phase III (Eight Months)

In Phase Three, you are expected to operate independently as a wealth planning specialist for Financial Advisors within the market. You will proactively engage Financial Advisor teams and lead financial planning meetings to deliver advice and wealth management solutions to meet the needs of each client. You will complete the CFP® curriculum and exam.

Phase IV (Four Months)

You will continue to lead planning discussions with clients. Additionally, you will engage in the formal process of being matched with a Financial Advisor team with whom you will enter the next stage of your career.

At month 24, upon successful completion of the WPA, you will be eligible to join a Financial Advisor team within the local market as part of the New Financial Advisor (NFA) Program. The NFA Program provides you with continued development to help you successfully transition from the WPA role to being a Financial Advisor.

As an NFA, you will provide comprehensive wealth management advice to your team's existing client base while attracting new clients. The foundation of knowledge and skills you acquire as both a WPA and NFA will differentiate you in the marketplace as a true wealth manager and prepare you for a successful career as a Financial Advisor.
