Wealth Planning Analyst Program
Graduate job Boston (Suffolk County) Accounting / Management control
Job description
Description
The Wealth Planning Analyst Program provides the opportunity to rapidly learn the fundamentals of the wealth management business in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative environment.
The Wealth Planning Analyst (WPA) Program is a structured 24-month development program designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed as a Financial Advisor. During each phase of the program, you will learn from wealth planning experts, work with some of the top Financial Advisors in the industry, and develop the skills necessary to become a successful wealth manager. In addition to rigorous proprietary training, you will also pursue and obtain the CFP® designation during the program.
Under the guidance of a Complex Director, you will focus on becoming a financial planning expert in the local market. Throughout the program, you will work with financial advisors to create customized financial plans, lead financial planning meetings, and provide clients with invaluable advice to help them achieve their financial goals.
The 24 month program is divided into four phases:
Phase One (4 months):
This phase combines e-learning, case studies, virtual group work, and on-site training to educate you on the UBS product and service offering as well as the financial planning process and related tools. During this time, you are expected to obtain your Series 7 and Series 66 (if not licensed already) and begin pursuing the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) designation. During this phase, you will also join other Wealth Planning Analysts from across the country for a week of intensive on-site training in the Wealth Management Americas headquarters in Weehawken, NJ.
Phase Two (8 months):
Phase Two focuses on the application of the knowledge and skills you acquired in Phase One in addition to ongoing development through virtual classroom sessions, online modules, and case studies. During this phase, you begin to partner with Advisors within your complex to develop financial plans in order to deliver advice and wealth management solutions to meet the unique needs of each client. Additionally, you will begin CFP coursework during this phase.
Phase Three (8 months):
In phase three, you are expected to operate independently as a wealth planning specialist for Advisors within the complex. You proactively engage Advisor teams and lead financial planning meetings to deliver advice and wealth management solutions to meet the needs of each client. During this phase, you will complete the CFP curriculum and exam.
Phase Four (4 months):
During this phase, you continue to lead planning discussions with clients. Additionally, you engage in the formal process of being matched with a specific Financial Advisor team with whom you will enter the next stage of your career.
At month 24, upon successful completion of the Wealth Planning Analyst Program, you will be eligible to join a Financial Advisor team within the local market as part of the New Financial Advisor (NFA) Program. The NFA Program provides you with continued development to ensure you successfully transition from the Wealth Planning Analyst role to being a Financial Advisor. As a NFA, you will provide comprehensive wealth management advice to your team's existing client base while developing strategies for attracting new clients to grow the business. The foundation of knowledge and skills you acquire both as a Wealth Planning Analyst and NFA differentiate you in the marketplace as a true wealth manager, and prepare you for a successful career as a Financial Advisor.
'Please note: after an initial screen qualified applicants will receive a request to complete Part 2 of the application process, a brief online survey. Qualified applicants will have 48 hours to submit the completed survey.'
