An experienced C# / .NET Developer is needed to work within the Equities Front-End Trading area of Equities IT on the GUI component of the Pinpoint application. Pinpoint is the sales order management system used by internal traders and external clients to enter and manage orders. It is used by clients globally.
This is a technically challenging role that affords direct interaction with the business stakeholders, other teams within Cash Equities and collaboration with a talented, mature and supportive project team that consists of a global team of developers of various expertise levels, QA team and a Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a global team of developers and analysts based in NY and London
• Be responsible for changes to the GUI in line with business requirements
• Liaison with Product Management teams in NY, London and Hong Kong
• Work with support teams to troubleshoot production issues
• Contribute to the future direction of the platform
Requirements:
• Extensive experience in development with C# / .NET, ideally related to development of real-time, high performance front end applications
• Excellent knowledge of data structures
• Experience of best practices around continuous integration, unit testing and code review
• Knowledge of distributed systems and networking (TCP/IP and UDP)
• Knowledge of web Services (e.g. SOAP, WSDL)
• Experience of deploying software externally (e.g. certificates, SSL and TLS)
• Exposure to Relational Databases (e.g. Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server)
• Operating Systems (e.g. Unix, Solaris, Linux, etc.)
• Application servers (e.g. Tomcat)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to mentor / guide junior team members, do code reviews,
• Ability to work with Product Development Group and business to discuss requirements, obtain clarifications, work on prioritization of work
• Ability to provide high/detail level design proposals
