UBS is actively recruiting for a Negotiation Specialist (Specialized Documentation) to join our Nashville Business Solutions Center. Negotiation Specialists are contract negotiators who draft and advise on master agreements related to financial products. The focus of this role will be on specialized documentation, including derivative (ISDA, related Credit Support documents) and prime brokerage agreements for hedge fund clients of the Prime Services business (knowledge of ETD agreements, derivatives clearing agreements, repo agreements and stock loan agreements is a plus). The role will work in a team of documentation professionals in the Investment Bank's Legal Department.
This individual will be primarily responsible for handling all stages of negotiation (including preparation of first drafts of agreements, negotiating terms, obtaining approvals, and coordinating internally to successful resolution) of specialized counterparty documentation for ISDA and prime brokerage agreements, including all related ancillary documents (e.g. NDAs, Guarantees, Custody Agreements, and Triparty/Account Control Agreements).
Other key responsibilities include the following:
• Liaising with attorneys in the Legal Department and/or outside counsel to clarify the legal framework for trading financial products
• Liaising with credit officers, risk managers, business representatives, operations personnel and others to resolve issues
• Participating in global sub-committees and projects
• Responding to internal and external client queries
Candidate should:
• Hold a Bachelors Degree
• have sound knowledge of counterparty relationship documentation, including: ISDA and prime brokerage documentation (knowledge of ETD agreements, derivatives clearing agreements, repo agreements and stock loan agreements is a plus)
• have a minimum of 3 years of negotiating experience with respect to counterparty relationship documentation
• Previous experience in one or more top investment banks is strongly preferred
• be detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, verbal and analytical skills
• be a team player, self-starter and capable of working under tight deadlines
• be willing to work flexible hours
