Description

The Monitoring, Surveillance & Controls (MS&C) function is part of Compliance & Operational Risk Control (C&ORC). C&ORC provides independent oversight of the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risks (so called 'consequential' risks) within the firm. This responsibility includes ensuring the necessary risk frameworks are appropriately designed and operating effectively across the full operational risk taxonomy, pro-actively identifying and analysing risk, and providing constructive challenge to achieve an appropriate balance between risk and return.

As the Senior Business Risk Analyst in MS&C, you will be supporting the Regional Head of MS&C, APAC in providing oversight and ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of the firm's Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk framework across the APAC region.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

· Collate and provide to management and various stakeholders a consolidated view of the risks within the MS&C area;

· Propose corresponding risk mitigations and support on remediation measures;

· Work closely with other regional leads and cross divisional functions to provide support and guidance to ensure effective design and implementation of MS&C control framework;

· Monitoring risk mitigation actions;

· Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders;

· Proactive lead and support of business risk projects; and

· Drive risk reviews and internal investigations when required.

· Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 year related business risk relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor for a financial services company. An understanding of Investment Banking, Asset Management, and Wealth Management experience and knowledge preferred;

· Proactive, driven and committed team player with a flexible personality;

· Display strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership ability across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills;

· Excellent analytical skills and pro-active problem solving mindset and solid knowledge of the various business analyst tools and methodologies;

· Great organizational skills with ability to balance and prioritize several competing tasks set by management; and

· Ability to work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

Additional/Preferred Requirements:

· Technically proficient in Excel. Skills in other data manipulation / querying languages would be an advantage (e.g. SQL).

· Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) certification is a plus'
