Description of Area

The Corporate Center ensures that our business divisions operate as a coherent and effective whole by providing and managing support and control functions for the business divisions and the Group including risk management and control (including compliance), finance and legal. It also provides all logistics and support functions including operations, information technology, human resources, corporate development, regulatory relations and strategic initiatives, communications and branding, corporate real estate and administrative services, procurement, offshoring and treasury services such as funding, balance sheet and capital management.

Description of team

The Banking and Products Legal team is part of the wider UBS AG, Wealth Management Legal team and has a very wide remit to advise on all run the bank, change the bank and new business initiatives for WMUK. The team provides legal representation on all the relevant committees to deliver such advice.

Responsibilities

i.) advising on structured product, derivatives and FX transactions;
ii.) advising on UK, European and Global regulatory developments (including PRIIPs, MIFID II, EMIR and PSD II);
iii.) advising on Change the Bank projects (such as e-banking);
iv.) advising on Philanthropy related matters issues and providing support on general corporate matters;
v.) co-ordinate, instruct and support UBS's external legal advisors where necessary.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer (preferably England and Wales or other common law jurisdiction) with relevant post-qualified experience.
• Drive, enthusiasm and motivation, paired with a keen commercial sense and risk management skillset.
• Familiarity with the private wealth management area would be an advantage.
• Regulatory awareness
