KYC Subject Matter Expert (SME)

As a part of the Know Your Client Team, you will conduct due diligence checks on existing clients of the Investment Bank across all business areas and products types. You will be responsible for analyzing and escalating negative news and any other red flags identified in order to manage and mitigate the risk of being involved in money laundering, financing terrorism or other illegal activities. This role will also require from you to undertake quality checks on junior team members work. Your position will require close cooperation with Compliance department and other stakeholders.

The role is located in the UBS office in Zabierzow (Krakow Business Park).

Responsibilities:
• Verifying KYC data obtained by team members and confirming if relevant information are in line with regulators requirement
• Identify red flag situations and escalate in line with policy and procedures
• Verifying clients classification from a risk and regulatory perspective
• Ensuring appropriate and confidential handling / sharing of sensitive information
• Contributing ideas and participating in efforts to further improve and streamline the process
• Acting as a quality checker/supervisor of junior analysts

Requirements;
• Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Legal or similar
• 3 years of experience in KYC or AML
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent attention to details
• Ability to communicate effectively with all project personnel and other business area contacts
• Strong time management, prioritization, work organization and multi-tasking skills
• Quick learner

Additional assets:
• Experience in performing KYC checks.
• KYC/AML Certifications and Diplomas
• Knowledge of other languages
