Your role

The Asia Pacific (APAC) Group Operating Officer (GOO) supports the APAC Management, including APAC Chief Operating Officer and Country Heads in the execution of their mandates and responsibilities. The APAC GOO function coordinates and supports the Control and Logistics functions, and has a consolidated overview of the front-to-back Control environment in APAC.

We are looking to hire for the Singapore based team, an APAC GOO Officer, to replace the incumbent who is transferring to another role within the Bank.

The role holder will report to the Business Manager and will provide assistance to other team members. The GOO Office consists of a small number of professionals with complementary experience and knowledge. Effective collaboration and mutual support is key, which will include working with the other members of the Management Office, such as the Country Operating Officer, Client Coverage, Chief of Staff, GRSSI/Group Governmental Affairs, Strategy and BCM teams.

From a day to day perspective, the GOO Office is involved in a wide range of activities, such as leading cross business projects, overseeing group-wide front-to-back activities, supporting key meetings and committees (including acting as secretary for the Singapore Outsourcing Governance Committee, IB Operating and Risk Committee and Singapore Management Committee), organizing branch-wide events, resource allocation/cost review/budget planning and business management. In addition, the GOO Office supports APAC Community Affairs as well as Diversity & Inclusion for Singapore. This includes planning and facilitation of employee engagement events, maintaining relationships with community partners and managing the Matched Giving program. The GOO Office is also responsible for monitoring material risks and working on other ad-hoc matters and projects in support of the APAC Group COO.

The role holder will provide assistance and coordination on the above activities, and will gradually take on responsibility in selected deliverables and managing smaller projects within the team.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic junior professional with existing experience of working in the financial industry to assist the execution of the above objectives. The chosen individual needs to be flexible and responsive in providing timely management support, primarily within the GOO Office but also to other areas within the Bank (where required). The role offers wide opportunities for the candidate to learn and experience the diverse businesses and areas in the Bank.
