Summary

UBS Investment Bank based in London is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, build and evolve Algorithmic & Smart Order Routing execution systems across multiple asset classes.

Introduction to the team
The Algorithmic Trading & SOR team is part of the Direct Execution Services function and is dedicated to providing cutting edge client execution services within the UBS Group. Whilst the team has a global footprint, the role is based in London.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:
• Delivering high-quality working software translated from business, client and quant driven requirements
• Helping define the strategic architecture of our products, understanding and driving performance of our products from team-defined and client driven requirements
• Communicating and working globally with our peers in other regions to build globally strategic solutions
• Providing developer level support of our systems in our production environments

Requirements
• A strong technical background in Java (J2SE), with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Quick-thinking, intelligent, pragmatic, with a love of problem-solving
• Ability to quickly translate requirements into sound technical designs
• Excellent writing and communication skills and an ability to work effectively on a trading floor and in a global team
• Self-motivated, with the ability to motivate and stretch others
