Job description

A 6 months internship is the ideal way to gain the work experience you’ll need to launch your career. From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about the business of finance from top to bottom, you’ll also experience the unique workplace culture of UBS.The Finance function is responsible for the Group’s financial reporting, forecasting, planning and controlling processes and provides Senior Management with information and analysis to support their decision making, whilst ensuring that UBS meets its regulatory requirements. Important elements of Finance’s work include ensuring a compliant and efficient financial accounting and reporting process, supporting the various monthly, quarterly and annual reporting products as well as preparing various analysis, recommendations and presentations for management.
Finance also manages and controls UBS’s tax affairs, provides treasury and capital management and represents UBS to investors and analysts.
The internship within the Business/Product Controller Finance Team of the Investment Bank is focused but not limited to these areas/activities:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the revenues generated by the assigned front-office trading desks
- Providing transparency and explanation of the Desk’s financials to both Finance management and to other key stakeholders
- Ensuring the balance sheet and risk management systems accurately reflect risks involved in the various CFO-IB business/trading areas
- Controlling that the general ledger properly reflects the Profit & Loss and the Valuations of the various products held/traded by your Investment Bank traders
- Providing value-added commentary to Management for Business Planning and Analysis
- Analysing significant market and position factors/trends that are contributing to your Business Area results

Desired profile

• Studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably with a Finance-related major
• Strong analytical skills
• Drive and initiative
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and to work well in a team
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Fluent in English, German would be an asset
