Job description
Our Graduate Training Program (GTP) is an 18-month program that offers a unique opportunity to get insight into different divisions and areas within UBS. Throughout your program you will be directly involved in various audit projects, working with highly skilled professionals and gaining first-hand experience of how the business works. Next to on-the-job learning and dedicated training on internal auditing, you will receive an intensive education on financial markets, UBS products and other core business topics. Also, you will have the opportunity of having a dedicated mentor to help you foster your career with UBS.
Group Internal Audit (GIA) is an independent function that supports UBS in achieving its strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives. We do this by assessing key processes as well as governance, risk management, and the control environment within all business divisions globally. We are independent in our work and report directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
GIA is a global organization and has over 360 professionals working in 18 offices in 13 countries. GIA has dedicated teams covering Investment Bank, Wealth Management, Retail & Corporate, Global Asset Management and Corporate Center functions as well as Information Technology. GIA has been a strong supporter of the GTP over many years and its GTP Alumni hold key positions within GIA and other business areas.
In addition to on-the-job learning and great networking opportunities within the Bank, GIA offers its graduate trainees the following:
- An 18-month program geared towards a specific career objective
- Working in an international environment, including the opportunity to work on an international assignment;
- Training offered by Group Internal Audit (GIA) and UBS as well as external qualifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Internal Auditor (CFA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Swiss Wirtschaftsprüfer certifications.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Analyzing and assessing risks (e.g. market, credit, operational, legal and compliance) assumed by the business;
- Identifying and evaluating the effectiveness of controls designed to address those risks;
- Providing practical, sustainable, innovative, and value-adding solutions to issues identified;
- Monitoring issue resolution, risk profile and developments within a specific area and providing input for audit planning.
Desired profile
• University degree (Bachelor or Master Level) in any field, preferably with a business or technical background
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as the ability to focus on details
• Drive and initiative with the ability to thrive in a busy environment and to work well under pressure
• Flexibility to handle various and different topics and willingness to travel to other UBS locations for audit assignments
• Open and self-confident personality with high performance attitude
• Good communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of management
• Internship or vocational training in the financial services industry
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
