Job description



Ubisoft is looking for a data storage and backup administrator to join the team of global networks (GNS) storage and virtualization system administrators in Montreal.

The Data Storage and Backup Administrator supports and maintains Ubisoft's various data storage and backup systems, ensuring infrastructure health and data integrity. It will also participate in optimizing the processes surrounding the exploitation of these technologies and the lifecycle of Ubisoft's data. It will also be involved and will participate in large-scale technology projects.

This position requires occasional travel for employment purposes, as well as rotating on-call work periods for emergencies.

Responsabilities:
The main responsibilities of this position include, not limited to,:

·  Ensure enterprise scalability and performance for storage and backup environments through proactive capacity planning, performance control and configuration adjustment;
·  Analyze and report on system performance;
·  Optimize data backup and storage systems;
·  Implement security policies and procedures for storing and safeguarding data;
·  Install, maintain and upgrade data storage and backup hardware and software;
·  Maintain documentation of configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures, and service records for data storage and backup hardware and software;
·  Ensure troubleshooting in the event of errors and backup problems, and to resolve and analyze the root causes;
·  Proactively notify customers of failed backup work so that errors can be corrected quickly;
·  Communicate with hardware and software representatives, as well as other internal teams, to diagnose and resolve errors with root causes;
·  Participate in the assessment of new requirements, design and technical standards;
·  Respond to user requests and service requests
·  Provide training to users of the data storage system;
·  Do all other related tasks.

Formation:

·  University degree or equivalent experience in computer systems, computer science or other relevant fields. 

Relevant experience:

·  5 years or more in administration of data backup and storage systems in a large company.

·  Good knowledge of Isilon NAS
·  Good knowledge of Veritas Netbackup
·  Good knowledge of Windows SAN
·  Good knowledge in CEPH (an asset)
·  In-depth knowledge in Scripting, Automation
·  Knowledge in Ansible and Python (an asset)
·  Good knowledge of Linux
·  Good knowledge in VMware and VSan (an asset)
·  Understanding both written and oral English
