Founded in 1991, Hybride was the first digital visual effects company established in Quebec. For over 30 years, the Hybride team has been reinventing the VFX industry, one project at a time.
In January 2025, Hybride and Ubisoft merged their creative and technical expertise to develop a new video game cinematics team. As the team continues to expand, we are looking for a Senior Cinematic Animator to play a key role in its growth.
Job Description
As a Senior Cinematic Animator you will be responsible for producing industry defining animations for our unannounced project. You will focus on creating realisitc character performances as well as animating other scene elements such as props, vehicles and cameras to deliver striking cinematics. In collaboration with the Animation Lead you will help upkeep the animation benchmark and mentor mid-level animators.
What You'll Do
· Animate characters, props, vehicles and cameras to produce high quality cinematics.
· Collaborate closely with the Animation Lead, Cinematic Designers and Production to understand the direction and make sure your cinematics meet all the necessary requirements.
· Actively participate in problem solving conversations to identify and solve technical and creative issues
· Seek feedback and direction while also providing feedback to your peers.
· Clearly communication progress and challenges to facilitate interdisciplinary alignment.
· Work within technical constraints using proprietary tools and Engine.
· Validate your work in the Engine to ensure proper functionality.
· Participate in production planning and propose solutions to meet deadlines.
· Work from office at least once a week (located in the Mile End)
Qualifications
· You are an experienced Cinematic or Gameplay Animator on AAA titles, who has shipped games or have been involved in development and polishing phases of production.
· Have an excellent sense of character performance and image composition.
· Strong understanding of character animation, timing, and storytelling.
· Expert with Autodesk Motion Builder and Maya.
· Have experience with motion capture.
· Your communication skills enable you to communicate easily with your colleagues.
· You are pro-active in your self-development as an artist and game developer.
