About the Role
In this highly visible and highly hands-on role, you will enjoy the key decision-making combined with the on-site hands-on problem solving that comes with being responsible for the quality for some of the highest quality and the highest visibility products for the world today. You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality tools and systems for groundbreaking product designs for Uber’s self-driving vehicles.
What You’ll Do
·
Maintenance of printed circuit board design guidelines for all Uber products
·
Responsible for printed circuit board assembly technology roadmap
·
Provide consistency to printed circuit board specification acceptability
·
Solid understanding of paste printing, SPI, pick and place and reflow processes and impact of process parameters on reliability
·
Establishment and maintenance of supplier site/material/technology qualification matrix
·
Provide guidance to product designers on available printed circuit board technologies and materials
·
Interact with and guide PCB layout designers to select layer structures, design rule sets and practices
·
Work with design tool engineers to define and validate appropriate scripting, design rule checks, etc
·
Support design for cost investigations as the bridge between engineering and procurement
·
Audit and assess PCB vendor production lines, including manufacturing techniques and quality control systems
·
Review new technology qualification data and make disposition decisions
·
Analyze new product introduction first article data and make disposition decisions
·
Drive corrective actions for PCB vendor issues using step by step methodology
