Job description

TUV Rheinland UK Ltd is looking for bright and dedicated internship students, who would like to gain a practical experience of working in a hectic business office environment and learn/practice their business acumen, marketing and project management skills.

Internship location: Birmingham, Solihul
Internship period: minimum usually 3 months but we would consider shorter periods. (preferably 6-9 months or longer)

General description of tasks and projects that we can offer to the internship candidates:
• Support with Sales & Marketing (S&M) campaigns:
- UK market research
- preparation of S&M materials
- making contacts with potential clients (email, phone, meetings)
- attending business meetings and trade events
• Support in new Business Development:
- UK economy / market review and analysis
- industry research
- attending trade events and shows/exhibitions
• Assistance with handling new enquiries and project management:
- correspondence with the clients
- maintaining enquiries log and database
- liaison with subcontractors
• Maintenance and regular update of website
• General administrative duties and assistance with filing and archiving

Important notes:
Any activities/tasks that an internship candidate might do for TUV Rheinland UK during his/her internship are on a purely voluntary basis and are part of his/her work experience only. TUV Rheinland UK does not have a specific job for the internship candidate to carry out; neither can a job description be prepared. Please rest assured that TUV Rheinland has no intention to try to exploit the internship candidate, but on the contrary - we are only wishing to help him/her to gain valuable work experience in a real working environment. For that reason we do not offer any payment to the internship students during their internship with TUV Rheinland UK. However we do offer a small compensation to internship students to help cover their travel expenses of maximum GBP 250.00 per month.

Desired profile

Requirements to the internship candidates:
- fluent English (other languages, especially German, would be an advantage)
- experience with MS Office, especially Excel
- previous experience in conducting market study/research using Internet and telephone interviews would be an advantage
- previous sales and marketing experience or education would be an advantage, however not essential
- fluency in telephone communications with clients
- previous project management experience would be an advantage
- examples of multi tasking, working to deadlines and under pressure
- previous experience with website development/maintenance would be an advantage, but not essential
- previous experience with meetings/presentations to clients would be an advantage, but not essential
- overall commitment to hard-working and gaining business experience
- interest to learn new skills
- self-confidence and self-motivation
