Job description

About us:

Turtle Pack is a multi-award-winning swimming aid, designed to ensure children learn to swim proficiently and happily. Turtle Pack is a swimming aid to make swimming lessons fun and engaging, while teaching children one of the most important life skills effectively.

We are currently looking for an intern to come into the business for between 1-4 months, for around 10-20 hours per week.

The problem with experience!

We know all too well the problems you face as a young person or graduate looking for paid work, employers want you to have hands on experience before they hire you. We have all been there, thinking ‘How am I supposed to gain experience if I’m constantly turned down for not having any?!’

With that in mind, we want someone to come in and help us build the business up and develop some key projects. In exchange for helping us, we will give you the opportunity to work hands on in a professional environment that will help you build up your CV.

What you will share responsibility for:

* Business Development
* Market Research and Analysis
* Project Planning and Project Management
* Report Writing and Stakeholder Analysis

Developer Michael Harkins is a passionate swimming instructor and head teacher of one of the most successful swim schools in Scotland. Michael believes that Turtle Pack has a unique responsibility to collaborate with as many nurseries and schools as possible up and down the country, to help them add value to their existing school swimming programme. (if they have one)

While we are well aware that many schools have already paid significant attention to swimming as part of their scheduling and are achieving excellent results, it is clear that many more are struggling to provide an effective school swimming education programme.

Primary schools 'must offer more swimming' says BBC

The BBC wrote an article a few years ago stating that almost half of primary school children in the UK are unable to swim a length by themselves. We firmly believe that pupils should not leave primary school unable to swim.

Swimming isn't just a leisure activity or a way for young people to keep healthy, it's a life-saving skill that every child has the right to learn. This is where you come in. We need someone to come into the business and help us build an outreach programme.

We are developing a Turtle Pack swimming educational programme and we need your assistance to promote this into nurseries and schools all over the UK.
