Job description
We have a very exciting opportunity for a Trainee Employee Benefits Specialist to work in our Financial Services team on a permanent basis. The individual should have experience in a similar environment or interest in developing a career within financial services with the aim of specialising in employee benefits. They must work well in a small team and some financial services knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
The successful applicant will be offering a first class administrative service to our clients by supporting our team of consultants. They will receive the training required to provide an administrative support role. This role will develop into a client facing role where they will expand the services we currently offer our clients. This will include building relationships with clients and providers, promoting our employee benefits service and expanding our existing services.
We are a small financial services company based in beautiful Clifton, Bristol, just a short walk away from Clifton Village. Our principal business activities are corporate pension consultancy, investment consultancy, scheme administration and the provision of actuarial services. We provide a boutique service to Trustees and employers. Our focus is very much on the provision of a personal and professional service tailored specifically to meet each client's particular needs.
The individual will:

- Be content in a varied support role with the drive to develop our services further
- Be comfortable presenting and conducting one to one client meetings
Duties will include:
- Providing assistance to team members including advisors
- Drafting letters, writing emails
- Answering and dealing with telephone enquiries
- Maintaining and developing records
- Dealing with the day to day administration of group death in service group income protection and healthcare schemes
- Confirming benefit specification and obtaining membership data for schemes
- Co-ordinating, checking and issuing of scheme renewal accounts to clients
- Dealing with any claims that arise
- Dealing with scheme market reviews at regular intervals including scheme design, full market research and collation of results
- Co-ordinating member fund switches
- Assisting with non-advised transfer analysis
- Managing individual projects
- Assisting with the preparation of fee schedules
The benefit package includes immediate life assurance cover, membership of our group pension arrangement and 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch.
