Job description
SALARY: £275 per week
Please note that although all our internships start as 12 week placements we hope to offer permanent employment at the end – therefore please only apply if you are available for permanent employment. The permanent role available at the end of this Internship is – Broadcast Media Assistant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Total Media Broadcast team are responsible for the planning and buying of media campaigns across TV, radio, cinema, video and out of home, with close involvement with the digital and other media activation teams to deliver successful media campaigns. The broadcast intern is integral to the team, providing admin and buying support across all broadcast media, to all broadcast team personnel.
Buying and negotiation
• Assisting team with media planning, buying and research.
• Speaking to media owners (TV channels, radio stations, poster specialists etc.) to buy media space and provide market insights.
• Developing a sound knowledge of a wide range of media markets.
• Supporting with campaign administration and team admin.
Planning
• Contributing imaginative and innovative ideas to the media planning process.
• Researching media opportunities and helping with the creation of planning documents.
• Understanding the workings of media plans, leading to the ability to transfer client plans to campaign bookings.
The Broadcast team
• Working as part of the broadcast team to provide all support that team members require to carry out their day to day roles.
• Make a significant contribution to internal meetings and brainstorms.
• Creation of media updates.
• Helping with delivering work for new business pitches.
• Improving the efficiency of the broadcast team.
CLIENTS
We have an exciting and diverse roster of clients at Total Media, which span across an extensive number of sectors, ranging from the technology to travel to FMCG. The Broadcast Team work across the majority of Total Media clients, so in your role you will be exposed to clients such as Lenovo, Macmillan Publishing, Florette Salad, Rustlers, Investec Private Banking, British Heart Foundation and many others.

INTERVIEW PROCESS
The interview process involves two-stages where you will be required to take a numeracy and verbal test if you are joining as a graduate or an intern. Your first interview will be with broadcast team management. For the second interview you will be asked to give a short presentation on a topic relevant to the role.
Desired profile
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Educated to a degree level (preferable, but not essential). In the absence of a degree, a high quality of maths and English is required.
• Computer literate.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects at once and prioritise effectively.
• Keen interest in the media industry, with a particular interest in broadcast media.
