Job Description

About the Job Dimensions     

Responsibility for the organising and setting up filling equipment, the filling and packaging of products and all associated, raw material, empty package and filled package transportation. Pack, product and raw material storage, vehicle package loading, load assembly, package off – loading, tanker discharge, barge discharge.

 
About the Activities

•     Follow procedures
•     Operate storage tank gauges or measuring devices
•     Dip storage tanks
•     Operate filling equipment
•     Operate fork truck, palletons and other lifting devices
•     Operation of cleaning equipment eg steam cleaners and floor scrubbers
•     Flush and drain pipe work to prevent contamination
•     Provide samples for QC testing
•     Operation of meters and valves
•     Interceptor Control
•     Operate stretch wrapping machines
•     Control housekeeping
•     Completion of all documentation associated with package filling, package storage, vehicle discharge and pack loading
•     Perform scales weight checks
•     Print Labels for packaging using computer

About the Accountabilities

Follow procedures, work without supervision, prioritize work load, liaise with blender for oil availability, assist with developing operational procedures. Investigate methods for continuous improvement. Ensure communications between controller, blenders and general operators is effective. Develop other operators, maintain safety, QC and housekeeping standards.

About the Qualifications / Experience Required

Skills task training given, fork truck training where required, Communication skills, basic English, basic Maths, safety and housekeeping skills, manual handling training. Basic computer skills.

Filling equipment includes, 3 x barrel filling lines, 1 x 20 lts filler, 78 storage tanks, transportation equipment, various meters and valves.
Approx 120 formulations. Approx 800 x Pack product combination range. 8 x warehouses with approx 2500 pallet spaces.
