We are offering an exciting 6-months internship opportunity within a dynamic team: LNG Portfolio Management team based in Geneva. You will evolve in a fast-paced and international environment that is always changing and evolving!
The LNG Portfolio management team is responsible for the optimization of the trade flows of Portfolio in order to bring LNG to the best value market. It coordinates with other trading teams (Physical Trading and Financial Trading) to evaluate deals opportunities for execution.
One of your mission will be to contribute to the improvement of “Flow” the in-house software used to optimise the LNG Portfolio to maximise the market value.

The global activities of the Gas & Power Branch of Total SA, and its affiliates, subsidiaries and associated companies (“Total Gas & Power”, "Group" or "Total Group") include the marketing and trading of natural gas, liquefied natural gas ("LNG") and power, the trading of liquefied petroleum gas ("LPG"), natural gas transportation and storage, as well as LNG re-gasification.

Total Gas & Power’s trading teams are responsible for optimising the purchase/sales portfolios of gas, electricity and LPG via transactions (arbitrage, balancing and hedging) in all recognised markets, in compliance with Group trading guidelines.

Candidate profile

·  You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering and are in your final year of study
·  You have gained knowledge in Python and Javascript and are ready to put these theoretical knowledge in practice
·  You have a real interest and curiosity for commodity trading
·  You demonstrate a pragmatic, economic and logical demeanor combined with problem solving skills.
·  You are able to perform in stressful circumstances with tight deadlines.
·  Entrepreneurial spirit and a good sense for opportunities
·  Professional proficiency in English

TOTAL is the world’s fourth largest publicly traded integrated international oil and gas company. The Gas Division is within the Gas, Renewables and Power branch and its primary objective is to contribute to the growth of TOTAL by ensuring sales outlets for both existing and future natural gas reserves and production. In order to optimise these gas resources, the Gas Division’s activities include the trading and marketing of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
TOTAL has the second largest LNG portfolio in the world, which represents 10% of market share and lead approximately 40MT of LNG in 2020. The overall fleet stand at 18 LNG carriers that support our trade flows. TOTAL operates its LNG trading business on a portfolio basis, with multiple LNG suppliers and off-takers and contract structures ranging from one-off spot transactions to multi-year, multi-destination long-term contracts.

Key responsibilities : 
·  Opportunity to learn and be exposed to Energy trading environment.
·  Collect external trade flow data.
·  Run Optimisation scenarios to find synergies with Portfolio
·  Interact with the Market Analysis team to collect, aggregate and present data on LNG market
·  Improve the interface between Flow and other trading software in order to exchange and reconcile data.
·  Collaborate with other teams to improve Flow’s User Interface.
