Job description
Working as part of the Tokyngton Academy centre team in Brent North West London, the Sports Tutor post provides a unique opportunity to support young people experiencing educational crisis.
Tokyngton Academy is a centre for alternative secondary education provision delivering tailored social and educational interventions for young people. Working in partnership the Tutor will play an integral role in enabling young people to get their lives back on track, through delivering innovative programmes, and working with the Centre Manager to ensure that the education centre achieves success.
The role involves assistance with the planning and delivery of a variety of lessons the primary role will be to deliver and manage the Vocational Qualifications including BTEC’s, VRQ’s and NVQ’s in Sport. Tutors will teach the qualifications through sport, most notably the medium of football; leading sessions as timetabled and providing one-to-one support as appropriate to bring excellence to the young people’s learning experience. With a strong and vibrant Christian faith, the successful candidate will also act as a link between students, their families and the church community.
