Job Requirements

The T&T Specialist: Spain is responsible for providing high quality, timely translation and transcreation services for operational and consumer facing departments at TJX Europe. This role is a 9 month interim role that ca be based in Madrid or performed 100% remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides high quality translation / transcreation, ensuring projects are completed effectively and efficiently.
• Works proactively and collaboratively within own language set and wider T&T (Translation and Transcreation) team to ensure translations are consistent.
• Active participant in broader Translation and Transcreation community
• Demonstrates proactive approach in maintaining the glossaries, methods and supports terminology initiatives.
• Serves as an internal language resource to assist with identifying improvement opportunities and providing recommendations to improve translation services and communications for the organisation.
• Collaborates with other business partners in providing a localised document.
• Partners with relevant stakeholders in market to ensure language and correct terminology are kept up to date – leveraging business relationships and partnerships.
• Ensures that all information is accurate for all markets taking into account local exceptions.
• Inputs into and complies with a common tone of voice.
• Supports effective communications for Europe ensuring consistency of messages across all banners and languages as appropriate.
• Responsible for own development and support others to maximise potential.
• Actively curious with language trends within local markets, ensuring we always remain current.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Native Euskeran and Castilian speaker with proficiency in English (Business)
• Translation education with strong linguistic background at least 3 years
• Agency / in house T&T experience is desirable.
• Passion for language
• Analytical and critical thinking
• Genuine interest in the evolution of language and culture
• Excellent computer skills including Translation Management Systems
• Excellent influencing skills, personal impact, and credibility
• Thinks tactically and manages ambiguity when required.
• Strong demonstrated communication skills with ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret information accurately; excellent attention to detail and accuracy and advanced experience with document structuring, editing.
• Additional language skills desirable
