The TJX Companies, the leading off-price apparel and home fashions retailer in the U.S. and the world is looking for a Staff Product Owner (Workday) to join our Human Capital Management (HCM) Solution Delivery team which is responsible for software and systems that support TJX’s world-class Global Human Resources and Payroll organizations.  This role will guide the team that designs, configures, and delivers the Global Workday Human Capital Management solution.

Our team thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working to address their needs which support TJX strategic initiative and growth.  Our goal is to align IT delivery with business strategy.  We seek a motivated and talented Staff Product Owner to help guide the team supporting the Global Workday Human Capital Management solution. 

Ideal candidate: A collaborative and strategic Staff Product Owner with strong Workday HCM expertise who excels at translating complex HR business needs into clear, value-driven solutions within an Agile framework. Proven ability to partner across business, product, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, compliant global HCM capabilities while managing priorities, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations effectively. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 + years of experience as a Product Owner in an HCM environment supporting large complex project/product implementations, working directly with business owners to identify and prioritize their needs. 
  • Proven knowledge of agile methodology, scrum, SAFe, and agile tools (JIRA/Confluence). 
  • Practiced consultative partnership with customers, with the ability to translate functional needs into requirements that drive value 
  • Experience in defining/prioritizing a team backlog of user stories including acceptance criteria.  
  • Experience analyzing cross functional business processes and defining integrated user stories using industry standard techniques.  
  • Ability to manage dependencies and shifting priorities in and across sprints /PIs.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailoring to all audiences.  
  • HCM Workday experience required 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations.  
  • Experience working as part of an Agile Release Train and participating in ART and Scrum Team Ceremonies.  
  • Good knowledge of business analysis, project management, and product management concepts are desired, along with an understanding of how enterprise software products are positioned and developed.  
  • Ability to coordinate work with Product Manager, Product Analysts and Engineers.  
  • Partner with Product Managers to align on HCM initiatives with product strategy, roadmap priorities, and business outcomes, ensuring dependencies with downstream Workday modules are clearly understood and planned. 
  • Work closely with Product Analysts to gather, refine, and document business and functional requirements, translating complex HR processes into clear specifications for configuration and development. 
  • Collaborate with engineering throughout the design and delivery lifecycle to ensure functional requirements are technically feasible, well understood, and implemented according to Workday best practices. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT Delivery skillset / training / experience 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Product Owner / Product Manager Certification (POPM) preferred 
  • Workday Core HCM certification is preferred but not required 
  • Experience working in multi-country environments, with awareness of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and Works Council requirements. 
  • Understanding of Workday security roles, data privacy, and compliance. 
  • Familiarity with Workday hierarchies (e.g., supervisory orgs, cost centers, location hierarchies). 
  • Ability to create custom reports to support business processes and operational needs. 
  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge sharing, documentation, and training delivery
