Senior Tax Accountant

*Hybrid work model, 2 days per week in office

The Senior Tax Accountant for the TJX Companies Corporate Tax Department will assist in corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and administration of tax audits. The individual will report to the International Tax Manager and be part of a team who can grow with TJX as we expand in the U.S. and abroad.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing U.S. informational returns for foreign entities (Forms 5471, 8858, and 8975) to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with domestic tax law

  • Assisting in the calculation of GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, E&P and other international tax computations for U.S. reporting

  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly provision and the year-end tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and support with year-end close

  • Identifying and calculating book/tax differences

  • Researching income tax issues and monitoring changes in legislation to properly plan and respond to changes in corporate tax laws

  • Reconciling tax accounts

  • Responding to tax authorities when needed

  • Participating in process improvements and/or implementations

  • Engaging in peer training opportunities such as preparing multi-state/multi-jurisdictional returns (stand alone, combined, unitary)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of corporate income / public tax experience (e.g., Form 1120, C Corps)

  • Experience with a multi-jurisdictional environment with complex tax requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business concentration

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation is a plus, but not required

  • CPA license is a plus, but not required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with U.S. international tax and other international tax concepts

  • Use and understanding of a leading tax and accounting software (e.g., OneSource, Checkpoint, Oracle, Onestream)

  • Strong computer and technology/data analytics skills, including Excel

  • Solid knowledge and application of accounting principles

  • Multitask in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Excellent organizational, written, and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills

  • Mentoring, reviewing, and training staff

This position has a starting salary range of $74,500.00 to $95,000.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
