Our Global Social Compliance team has specific responsibilities for managing and overseeing our ethical sourcing program and expectations.
We focus our efforts on health and safety, working conditions, environment, child labor, forced labor, slavery and human trafficking, wages and hours, and prevention of discrimination and harassment. We target our principal attention and resources on these areas and new initiatives globally. To support our expanding program, we have a newly created opportunity for a Social Compliance Specialist. This position will play a critical role in our social compliance factory monitoring program by driving the audit process for our third-party audits and industry accredited audits. The specialist will also communicate our program requirements and expectations to TJX Associates, external buying agents, and vendors.
What You Will Do:
- Demonstrates experience and knowledge of audits, with an understanding of audit reports and key areas of risk related to industry, countries, wages, forced labor, child labor, working hours, health, and safety, etc.
- Evaluates risk and makes recommendations based on balancing of interests between needs of Company and suppliers. Understands the importance of protecting the company from reputational risk.
- Educates associates, agents and vendors on program requirements and expectations.
- Oversees the audit process to ensure the required timelines are met to include:
- Requesting industry accredited reports or scheduling TJX third-party audits as required.
- Collaborating internally to ensure audits are received prior to orders.
- Ensuring timely notification of expiring audit reports to applicable associates and suppliers.
- Screens vendors and factories utilizing third party screening tool, gathers required documentation, and evaluates level of risk.
Who We Are Looking For: You
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience
- 3-4 years’ professional experience in any of but not limited to the following areas:
- ethical audits or equivalent social compliance/ethical sourcing
- factory monitoring
- product compliance/testing
- merchandising operations
- quality assurance
- sourcing/supply chain operations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
- Strong people skills, strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
