Reports to: Assistant Store Manager
Direct Reports: None
Working Conditions: Store environment where work/events can be varied or unpredictable; mostly standing/walking/lifting; dealing with the public.

 

Primary Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing ongoing, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to all customers and required to work in multiple areas of the store.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet customers in a friendly manner; be knowledgeable to answer questions regarding merchandise items, prices and brands and provide information on promotions, TJX Canada policies and procedures, events and store locations.
• Demonstrate a high degree of customer service while processing all refunds, exchanges, and purchases in accordance with company guidelines.
• Responsible for the daily processing of shipments, organization and set-up of the warehouse area in keeping with all policies and procedures and in a clean and safe manner. Ensure all merchandise is received, processed and maintain merchandise presentation standards. Re-merchandise and/or fill in with back stock as necessary.
• Responsible for daily cash office administration including with balancing registers, researching cash discrepancies and documenting appropriately, completing daily register activity log, store deposit and coin order in adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Assist with Fitting Room duties including ensuring counter area is clean, organized and has the proper supplies in place and assisting customer inquiries.
• Complete scheduled markdowns in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Specifications:
• High school education or equivalent work experience
• Minimum six (6) months retail experience preferred
• Excellent customer service, communication and time management skills
