Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
· Accompanies and assists Buyers to market appointments
· Spends time traveling in other markets
· Understands and determines value through the edit/selection process
· Writes and tracks purchase orders/templates, as applicable
· Prepares analysis, samples and information for strategy meetings; provides meeting recaps
· Through competitive shopping, identifies key opportunities and merchandising strategies
· Accurately analyzes data and identifies market trends
· Stays up to date on the changing market and identifies and recommends new opportunities (desirable vendors, new markets and products).
· Demonstrates knowledge of our business model (balancing opportunistic vs. incentive) and consistently manages through innovation, creativity, and flexibility.
· Maintains a global awareness and understands customer diversity
· Builds relationships with all levels internally as well as vendors
· Expresses ideas, verbal and written, in a clear, concise and organized manner
Minimum Requirements:
· Basic knowledge of negotiations, merchandising strategies and techniques
· Previous Merchandise Planning or Buying experience
· Strong entrepreneurial and strategic business skills
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
