Job Summary

 

The TJX Europe Leadership Team is focused on our future and recognises that we can only grow by investing in our people.  This is a true Business Partnering role where you will deliver HR Strategy and Objectives through coaching, supporting and challenging your passionate team in Wakefield Processing Centre, our largest and newest Distribution Centre in Europe. You will play a huge part in driving the success of the Function you are supporting, as part of TJX Europe’s ever growing business.

Key Responsibilities

 

Accountability

·         In response to the business strategy, identify, influence, develop and drive the people agenda, ensuring that it contributes to its overall success. Adjust the people agenda to meet changing needs.

·         Represent, contract, drive and prioritise the Function needs across the wider HR community, including the Centres of Expertise and HRSC - championing the use of the HRSC and Centres of Expertise.

·         Share strategy with the HR Business Partner group to create best practice and leverage organisational gains.

·         Identify with Centres of Expertise critical HR metrics required to measure business success.

·         Communicate policies, procedures and organisational culture to employees.

·         Provide a commercially focused, legally compliant generalist HR service to the business.

·         To act as team coach to the Function leaders, supporting them in developing people management skills and challenging where they do not

·         To role model leadership and new ways of working

·         To constructively challenge AVPs and managers, across the Function and the HR community.

 

Responsibility

·         Develop leaders of the future through effective coaching.

·         Develop external networks to allow HR knowledge/ideas to be shared in the business

·         Proactively identify talent issues before they affect the business, design strategy to resolve issues

·         Work with business leaders and line managers to deliver the people agenda and keep it high on their priorities.

·         Monitor and understand employee attitudes and track trends in employee behaviour.

·         Manage projects with a high degree of complexity, including organisational redesign and other initiatives.

·         Support work contracted through Centres of Expertise on:

o   Talent Acquisition - resourcing, manpower planning, predictive head count, retention, attrition, graduate scheme, apprenticeships, interns and employer brand.

o   Talent Development - induction, technical training, management development, performance management, coaching, talent planning, succession, career paths, high potential, tjxcellence and leadership development.

o   Executive Development - induction, leadership development.

o   Employee Relations - engagement, advice and support, legal compliance, policy and procedures, absence management, wellness, industrial relations, consultation, diversity, CSR, communications, employer of choice, environment, working conditions, duty of care and health and safety.

o   Reward - compensation and benefits, salary reviews, benchmarking, recognition.

o   HRIS - HR metrics and reporting

o   HRSC - first and second level employee support

·         Facilitate the tracking and management of career paths for high potential employees to optimise career development while preparing in advance for anticipated movement across the business units

·         Provide advice and guidance and promote best practices in the areas of change management and organisational development and reorganisation

·         Manage projects with a high degree of confidentiality and complexity, including organisational redesign and other highly sensitive initiatives.

 

Key Performance Indicators

·         Successful delivery of organisational change and the people vision – as determined and measured by the AVP, HR Business Partner and head of the Function

·         Delivery and implementation of the HR strategy

 

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

·         Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, with exacting timelines, and where high levels of accuracy are paramount – probably gained from operating in a fast-paced retail (or equivalent) organisation

·         Proven track record of working effectively with multiple level stakeholders – probably gained from working as an HR Business Partner (or as part of an organisation that adopts a HR Business Partner approach) in the past, requiring an autonomous, decision-making approach

·         Strong commercial acumen

·         Excellent influencing, relationship building and communication skills

·         Proven change leadership ability - creating meaning for others, and being comfortable in proposing innovative and transformative approaches to problem solving

·         Proven ability to influence stakeholders within an organisation irrespective of reporting line structure

·         Demonstrable experience of working in teams to achieve a common goal

·         Excellent coaching and development skills – of direct and indirect reports – and experience of delivering successfully in a matrix environment

·         Ideally qualified with a recognised HR qualification
