Job Summary

Manages the Distribution Center's staff to support a 24-hour operation comprised of over 800 - 1600 associates in a facility from      700,000 to 1,500,000 square feet. Responsible for the upkeep and repair of the equipment, building and grounds. Responsibilities include the electrical, HVAC, conveyor, forklift and fire preventive equipment and all OSHA programs. Coordinates with local contractors and vendors to obtain high quality, cost-effective service.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

·  Manages a 24-hour maintenance staff of 12 - 16 associates on three shifts. Develops, counsels, and motivates associates and resolves associate relations issues. Provides a good working atmosphere. Conducts performance appraisals, develops action plans and monitors progress of all associates.
·  Maintains efficiency and safety of all equipment. Monitors the daily operation and directs action as required.
·  Coordinates daily maintenance of equipment, consults with maintenance staff to determine future requirements.
·  Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish priorities and schedules the work load to satisfy production needs.
·  Coordinates with local contractors and vendors for equipment and services as required.
·  Orders parts and equipment and obtains services for repair and maintenance of facility's equipment.
·  Completes reports and records and performs other administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

·  Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
·  Strong knowledge of building codes, trade standards and general practices within maintenance field
·  Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanical, construction, plumbing, and HVAC
·  Strong communication and organizational skills
·  Minimum 6 years’ experience; in maintenance field, specifically supervising a large crew of mechanics in a 24-hour operation
·  1 - 3 years supervisory experience
