The Data Privacy Compliance Risk Analyst is responsible for assisting with the execution of TJX’s global privacy, data protection and records management functions. This position is responsible for identifying and assisting leadership in mitigating risk associated with privacy, information management, and other regulatory requirements. This position may represent TJX globally on related legal and compliance issues. The Data Privacy Compliance Risk Analyst monitors, researches and communicates, both internally and externally, global privacy, information management and regulatory standards and procedures, to assist leadership with ensuring the organization remains aligned with government and sectoral regulations and handles risk accordingly. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week on site in our Marlborough, MA headquarters.
What You Will Do:
- Assists with the daily global privacy and compliance program functions to include responding to specific compliance-related questions and incidents, helping specific groups remediate findings in privacy assessments, and evaluating privacy impact of business proposals involving personal information. Helps ensure that privacy and compliance issues are appropriately raised and identified risks are mitigated.
- Collaborates with associates in various departments throughout the company globally to gather information, promote the goals of the privacy and compliance program, and conduct research and assessments.
- Facilitates the creation of various privacy related documentation such as Records of Processing Activities, Privacy Impact Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Legitimate Interest Assessments.
- Stays current on privacy, data protection, and other compliance standard processes and current issues to include regular review of articles and websites on developments in privacy, data protection and other compliance related realms, and analysis and discussions about how those developments may impact the company's global privacy compliance program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who We Are Looking For: You
- 1-2 years compliance, privacy, consulting, or similar experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree a plus
- Familiarity with global privacy laws and regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and PIPEDA a plus
- Certification related to Privacy and Data Protection (e.g., International Association of Privacy Professionals certifications) a plus
- Working knowledge of privacy and/or data protection issues, laws, and regulations a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other Microsoft platform technologies (e.g., SharePoint)
- Experience working with global IT functions like Data Security and Architecture is a plus
- Outstanding critical thinking skills
- Pragmatic thinker with practical commonsense approach
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Exceptional presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, collaborate and build effective working relationships with internal partners across the organization
- Highly organized with attention to detail, can prioritize multiple work streams concurrently
