Job Description:
Based in the TJX Europe creative studio in Watford, the Creative Manager will create best-in class creative content for the growing retail brand of TK Maxx. We are collectively a family with Homesense and our Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability activity within TJX Europe, part of the global retail company TJX, Inc.
We’re looking for someone with two special attributes; you have a huge passion for fashion and you’re a guru art director/graphic designer. This role is integral to the in-house creative team for TK Maxx. We need a creative powerhouse, with a strong portfolio of fashion photoshoots and the ability to be able to design to a senior level.
Reporting into and working closely with our Manager of Art Direction you will be responsible for helping to shape and drive forward our creative offering to our customers. You’ll partner with our other Creative Managers across Homesense, Corporate Responsibility and Ecomm as well as our external agencies including post production, PR and digital to showcase your creative expertise.
We want you to support the wider team to help steer and champion industry leading art direction and design. Managing projects from start to finish we are looking for a creative leader that can deliver exceptional creative across all of our channels and markets across Europe.
The Role
We’re seeking a visionary Senior Art Director / Graphic Designer with a proven track record in fashion and retail. This hybrid role blends high-level art direction with hands-on design execution. You’ll lead fashion campaigns, concept and direct shoots, and craft bold visual assets across digital, print, and social. You’ll also be a key creative voice within the team — driving innovation, supporting leadership, and ensuring brand integrity at every touchpoint.
This role isn’t just about shoots. As a department we cover all touch points in the customer journey across print and digital. We need someone with a track record of being a great all-rounder.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Leadership: Concept, direct, and execute fashion shoots from pre-production to post, including briefing talent and overseeing retouching
Design Execution: Deliver cutting-edge design across digital, social, print, and in-store environments
Retail Expertise: Understand the customer journey across physical retail and digital platforms, ensuring design enhances experience and drives engagement
Still Life Photography: Concept and art direct still life shoots with a strong eye for composition and brand storytelling
Print Knowledge: Oversee print production with a solid grasp of processes, finishes, and materials
Creative Collaboration: Work closely with copywriters, marketers, and external agencies in an integrated, in-house agency model.
Team Support: Act as a creative lead in the absence of Department heads, maintaining tone of voice, brand integrity, and quality.
Team Management: Proven leadership qualities for creative teams. Able to support the Manager Of Art Direction with team management, structure, analysis of team skill sets and freelance contracts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Present ideas and creative work to senior stakeholders with clarity, confidence, passion and strategic insight
Trend Awareness: Stay on top of cultural and design trends, especially in social media, and translate them into relevant creative output
Commercial Acumen: Maintain strong awareness of competitors and market shifts to inform creative strategy
Innovation & Leadership: Be a voice of creative innovation, pushing boundaries and inspiring the team with fresh thinking.
What You Bring
Extensive experience in graphic design and art direction, with senior-level responsibilities
Experience working with fashion and beauty retail brands
Strong portfolio showcasing campaign-level fashion shoots, still life photography, and bold design work
Exceptional presentation and communication skills
Experience managing and mentoring creative teams
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and motion/video editing tools (Premiere Pro or similar)
Evidence of social-first thinking — from concept to execution
Leadership qualities with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
