About you

  • You are personable, confident, and articulate in all communications and you possess significant Retail Construction experience with a National or International retailer 
  • You have detailed knowledge of the Building code of Australia, and Private Certification processes in all states and are competent in understanding building approvals and the certification processes.
  • You enjoy managing multiple external resources and problem solving for practical, common sense outcomes.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and you know that working in Retail requires flexibility, maturity, and humility. 
  • You love to nurture your negotiation skills
  • You are pro-active and able to cope with competing demands and capable of working in an autonomous role as well as being a team player

Job Summary

Project Management of TJX retail construction projects to deliver the Region’s growth strategy. Managing all deliveries to the annual rolling schedule within budget. 

Key Responsibilities

  • The RC Project Manager will assume the lead role in end-to-end project management of assigned new and remodel store projects. This includes scheduling, WHS, certification, contract administration and internal reporting.
  • TJX retain a cohort of Nominated Suppliers and Key Vendors – the RC Project Manager will coordinate and manage these resources at a programme level, along with their delivery to contracted SLAs. 
  • The RC Project Manager role is pivotal to maintaining strong, mutually respectful relationships with all internal and external stakeholders of the store development programme. Including all Internal function heads, Landlords, Suppliers, Consultants, and industry peers. 
  • Manage and supervising project resources, including external project manager, general contractors and key vendors as the project requires 
  • Travel intrastate and interstate on a regular basis.
  • Track/monitor the performance of external resources by ensuring the tracking reports are always up to date and critical dates & information are capture.
  • Manage cost plans for the delivery of each project. 
  • Submit drawings for tender and manage tendering and ordering process, Manage and complete all project budget approval process for all major and minor projects.
  • Maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including store managers, store operational team, landlords, shopfitters, consultants, and industry peers etc.
