TJX is looking for a talented executive leader to join our   North American Selling and Store Operations Solution Delivery team as the Assistant Vice President Director for Selling & Payments Solutions . Using knowledge of industry best practice and IT delivery leadership skills, you will lead teams to deliver solutions to our rapidly growing US and Canadian divisions.  Successful applicants will have experience establishing and executing the strategy, defining products, building and leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of senior level stakeholders. You’ll also need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings.

Responsibilities

·  Responsible for the Selling & Payments applications supporting stores in all North America divisions
·  Provides leadership and IT strategic direction for the end-to-end product, delivery, and technical oversight of capabilities for Selling & Payments Solution Delivery business domains.
·  Partners with senior business leadership globally to address business needs.  Collaboratively develops divisional & North America roadmaps to drive business value and is accountable for the on time and on budget execution of epics/projects/programs, within agreed upon scope and quality measures.
·  Responsible for solution delivery & product teams in support of selling & payments products
·  Partners with peer product teams for delivery of enterprise connected solutions
·  Sets the vision for the function and ensures the team is comprised of highly skilled professionals who are empowered, engaged in continuous improvement, and invested in developing their capabilities.
·  Sponsors IT driven initiatives to enable alignment to a domain roadmap or improve operational efficiencies or business effectiveness.
·  Coaches, mentors, and provides feedback on performance, skill acquisition needs and professional development opportunities for staff internal and external to their direct team.
·  Key point of escalation for team to remove blockers.
·  Special projects as assigned.
·  Responsible to build out a strong functioning team with product and engineering excellence to deliver on long term business capabilities.
·  Developing Talent and Effective Teams  - including but not limited to:
·  Demonstrates a commitment and passion for associate development, driving the talent agenda. 
·  Driving a high performance and continuous development culture and focus within the function that meets long term organizational talent needs.
·  Sets clear goals and expectations around performance, providing timely feedback and stretching targets
·  Sets the highest standards for talent development, holding self and others accountable for meeting crucial talent needs for the future across the business
·  Works with peers to identify opportunities to develop cross functionally
·  Sets a standard for driving continuous improvement and focus upon being a high performance organization

 

Decision Making

 

·  Influences peer group and senior leadership team on strategic direction for improving the efficiency of delivering IT services and driving value for the business
·  Comfortable with some degree of ambiguity. Politically astute; able to negotiate under potentially stressful situations.
·  Engages external business partners, outsourcers, and offshore development partners as needed to supplement in-house staff in the execution of technical project deliverables. Partners with Global Sourcing and Procurement, Legal, Talent Acquisition and Vendor Management as required to create Statements of Work and staffing solutions.
·  Ensures adherence to the TJX Companies Solution Delivery Process (SDP), Sarbanes Oxley requirements and other corporate standards, procedures and guidelines.
·  Partners with various teams within IT to forge key agreements around solution approaches, operating principles, and transition to production.

 

Span of Control

Leads team of 4 - 8 direct reports and 25-75 indirect staff (consisting of TJX Associates and contract staff; may include professional services teams) across multiple disciplines and geographies in the delivery of technical solutions over a wide variety of platforms.

 

Requirements

·  Minimum 15 years prior experience in systems, business management or related field with at least 5 years leadership experience in technology and systems including HR responsibilities.
·  Experience managing a global function in a complex, multi-national corporate setting with geographically dispersed teams.
·  SAFe certification preferred.  Experience with resource planning and management across multiple projects.
·  Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;  Master’s degree in related discipline a plus
·  Strong knowledge of the solution delivery lifecycle including project management, business requirements, application development, testing, technologies/platforms, agile development methodologies, use of product team structures, and/or other applicable methodologies.
·  Proven success in meeting business objectives/project goals and delivering technology - well organized individual able to hold people accountable for results.
·  Experience in a leadership role with full life cycle implementations of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service.
·  Experience in a leadership role with full life cycle ownership of both Point of Sale and Payment applications (hardware and software solutions)
·  Strong knowledge of retail landscape including the North America payments landscape
·  Experience in building out a strong functioning team with product and engineering excellence to deliver on short term & long term business capabilities.
·  An enabler of DevOps mindset/approach for modernized and legacy systems to co-exist
·  Executive presence and excellent presentation skills a must
·  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at crafting a compelling, clear and objective case.
