thyssenkrupp Presta North America is a global leader in automotive components technology and the leading steering systems supplier for the automotive industry. thyssenkrupp Presta North America provides the industry with high-quality manual and electric steering columns, rack and pinion steering gears, and electric power assisted steering gears. thyssenkrupp Presta North America is part of the thyssenkrupp Presta AG group, headquartered in Eschen, Liechtenstein. In 2003, our manufacturing facility was established in the South Industrial Park of Terre Haute, Indiana. Beginning with just one assembly line, a handful of employees and 58,000 square feet, the company has grown to over 450 employees and 224,000 square feet. In addition, we have an office on northeast side of Indianapolis where the Procurement and Supplier Development Department, Business Development and Product Engineering are now located. We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.

Job Description

Supplier quality engineering, supplier relocation management, planning, development, coordination, monitoring, and support of supplier quality in accordance with ISO 16949, TKT-Presta Group, and customer specific requirements with the expectations of reducing quality costs attributed to poor supplier quality, and total customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·  Function as customer and Presta representative to suppliers.
·  Provide technical assistance to suppliers.
·  Schedule and partake supplier visits review and disposition supplier discrepant material, concession requests, and corrective actions.
·  Facilitate problem solving activities with supplier, responsible for supplier complaint management.
·  Tracks all supplier complaint related costs and conducts chargeback activities.
·  Facilitate mistake proofing and continuous improvement activities at suppliers.
·  Compile, analyze, report and react to supplier performance indicators.
·  Compile, analyze, report and react to costs of poor supplier quality.
·  Conduct quality based training at / with suppliers.
·  Support of Program Quality, Serial Production Quality, and Quality Systems.
·  May be Internal Complaint Responsible.
·  Performs general housekeeping and 5S activities in work area/s
·  Stops the line in case of non-conformity.
·  Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
·  Responsible for Launch Change Management process regarding to supplier location changes, where engineering changes are not involved Schedules Launch Change Management meetings, follow up on actions assigned, reports to management deviations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises sort personnel or other temporary or contract quality personnel as required for sort.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ISO/TS 16949, Cost of Quality, 6-Sigma, 8-D Analysis, Q-DAS, APQP, PSO, PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, SAP, Applicable Operating System Software, and Specific Customer Requirements. Organizational and communication skills. Punctual, reliable, self-directed, and willing to travel, certified process auditor.

Education and/or Experience:

·  4-Year Bachelor's Degree from college or university preferred
·  Experience in Quality Field preferred
·  Experience in Supplier Quality preferred

Computer and Technology Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Integrated Business software SAP – QM module. Use of Microsoft Office Suites software and Microsoft Explorer browser in a windows operating system. Use of Lotus Notes and AS – Stat.
